Built for a king bed and a room that actually needs it.
This is one of the largest sizes in our handmade rug collection, and it exists for two specific reasons: a king bed, and a genuinely large living or dining room. Both need more floor coverage than most standard sizes provide, and 9' by 12' was built with exactly that gap in mind.
The Size a King Bed Actually Calls For
A king bed is the largest standard bed size, and it needs a rug to match - something that extends well past the sides and foot rather than just peeking out from underneath it. See our Bedroom Rugs page for sizing guidance across every bed size, from twin to king.
Anchoring a Genuinely Large Room
This size also does real work in a large living room or dining room - big enough to sit under a full seating group with all four legs of the furniture resting on it, or to give a long dining table real breathing room on every side. If your room runs a size smaller, 8x10 may be the better fit.
